Case
Haynes v. Zoological Society of Cincinnati
Case No
A9005160 (S.D. Ohio)

Case Summary

Our client, Leigh Ann Haynes, a zookeeper, was wrongfully discharged by the Zoological Society of Cincinnati. She reported unsafe working conditions first to superiors and then to federal authorities. These unsafe working conditions led to a polar bear attacking and biting off the arm of Ms. Haynes’ co worker, Laurie Stober.

Ms. Haynes’ prompt and heroic actions saved Ms. Stober from even more devastating injury. Ms. Haynes brought the first suit in history under the Ohio Whistleblowers Statute.

We won her case at trial, before the Ohio Appellate Court and Ohio Supreme Court.
